Mouse test data stays in your browser

Our testing tools use browser input events such as button presses, wheel movement, pointer movement and event timing to calculate the results you see. The diagnostic code does not send this test data to our server, create a user account, or save your results in cookies or browser storage.

Resetting or reloading a test clears its in-memory state. When you choose to download a diagnostic report, it is generated locally in your browser and saved to your device. We do not receive that report unless you decide to send it to us. Your browser, extensions and operating system may independently process input events.

Hosting, network requests and technical logs

Like other websites, CheckMyMouse must process basic connection data to deliver pages. The hosting or content-delivery provider may receive an IP address, requested URL, time of access, browser or device headers, and security or error information. This is distinct from uploading your mouse test observations.

The exact hosting and log-retention arrangements depend on the deployed infrastructure. We do not claim that all access logs are disabled or promise a specific retention period without verifying the provider configuration.

This site is delivered as a static website through Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process visitor connection and request metadata, including IP address, requested URL, user-agent and access time, to route traffic, deliver pages and protect its network. Cloudflare's published privacy policy describes its processing and retention practices; retention varies by service and purpose. The account-level logging configuration has not been independently audited, so this site does not promise a specific log-retention period. For questions about this website, email [email protected].

Analytics, advertising and third-party integrations

The deployment-specific notice below describes whether analytics, advertising or other integrations are active. Browser-local testing itself does not require an account, camera, microphone, precise location, payment details or diagnostic uploads.

If new third-party services are enabled, we will review and update these disclosures. A service provider may process device and visit information under its own privacy policy; your diagnostic measurements are not intentionally sent to advertising services by the mouse testing code.

In this build, the application includes no analytics, advertising, third-party tracking SDK or remote font. No mouse observations are transmitted by the diagnostic code.

Advertising cookies and Google AdSense

If Google AdSense advertising is enabled on CheckMyMouse, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on users' prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to show ads to users based on their visits to CheckMyMouse and other sites on the Internet.

Other third-party ad vendors or ad networks may also use cookies or similar technologies if we enable them. Their privacy policies explain their data practices and opt-out choices. We will identify active advertising providers through our consent notices or updated disclosures rather than implying that a provider is already active.

You can manage or opt out of personalized Google advertising using Google's Ads Settings. You may also opt out of personalized ads from some other participating vendors at the Digital Advertising Alliance's consumer choices website. Opting out of personalization does not necessarily stop all ads or all essential cookies.

Cookie consent and regional privacy choices

Where required by applicable law, non-essential advertising or analytics technologies need an appropriate consent mechanism. For visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or Switzerland, personalized Google ads require a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework.

A Privacy Policy is not a substitute for a working consent mechanism. If advertising is introduced, the consent interface and any privacy choices it offers must be configured for the actual services and regions before advertising is activated. You can also manage or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Email contact and correspondence

If you email our published contact address, the message, sender address, headers and any attachments are processed by the sender's and recipient's email providers. This site does not have a contact form that secretly uploads your mouse report.

Only send details needed for your question. Please do not include passwords, financial details or unrelated personal files. Email retention depends on the mailbox and service arrangements; contact us to ask about a message or request its deletion, subject to any applicable obligations.

Your choices, requests and policy changes

You can reset local test results, avoid downloading reports, clear browser data and change advertising preferences where those options are available. The privacy choices and rights available to you may depend on your location and the services involved.

For questions or requests about website information, contact us through the address on our Contact page. We may revise this policy when the website's features or providers change; the date above identifies this version.
