CHECKMYMOUSE / TOOLKIT
Check buttons, movement and scrolling in one place. Real browser observations, with no installation needed.
A trackpad can produce similar browser events. This site cannot identify your device or certify hardware condition.
01 / How to test
02 / If something seems off
This mouse tester shows what your browser actually receives from your mouse: which buttons register, whether the pointer moves smoothly and whether the scroll wheel reports clean steps. Move the pointer into the test area, then click, scroll and move the way you normally would. There is nothing to install, no account to create and no test data leaves your browser.
Use it to check a new mouse, to confirm that a cleaned or repaired one still works, or to find out whether a problem lives in the mouse or in the software around it. When something looks wrong, the focused tests go deeper on one job at a time.
Follow the same routine each time for a fair comparison.
Press left, right and the wheel, then try side buttons only if your mouse has them. An absent button is not a fault.
Trace slow circles inside the test area, pause, and roll the wheel in both directions. Separate actions make missed events easier to spot.
Repeat a strange result slowly, then at normal speed. Compare in a second browser before blaming the hardware.
Use these patterns as clues, not automatic hardware verdicts.
The browser may not receive that button, or mouse software may remap it.
The sensor surface, wireless link, USB connection or computer load may be involved.
The click path may produce an extra event; the general test cannot identify the cause alone.
Start the test, move the pointer inside the test area, press every button and scroll up and down. Each action should appear in the live readout. If something is missing, repeat it slowly, then work through the checks above.
A trackpad produces pointer events that look much the same, so the page cannot tell it apart from a mouse. For a meaningful result, connect and use the physical mouse you want to check.
No. The readings are calculated in your browser and are not sent to a server or stored in cookies. Reloading the page clears them.
Browsers treat side buttons as back and forward navigation, and many mice send them to driver software instead. If they never register here, check the button assignments in your mouse software before assuming a fault.
No installation. No account. Mouse observations stay in memory on this page and clear on reset or reload.
